PLEASE NOTE: The Laurel & Hardy films are
not strictly a part of the Redcoat Reunion, but are an optional extra.
The hire charge for the Convention Room can be up to £1,000 per day.
Butlins kindly did us a deal but, even so,
the cost per head for the room was too great for the Redcoats alone to pay.
So, I have arranged to share it with the
Laurel & Hardy Appreciation Society, who will be on site over the same
weekend.
From the market research I did, the Reds don't want their own wall-to-wall
entertainment.
The idea is to introduce everyone to everyone on Friday night. Then, at 10am,
1pm and 7pm on Saturday we touch base to decide with whom and where we're
going to spend the day taking in the fabulous entertainment and facilities
that Butlins have to offer.
Sunday morning we meet up for a Camp Ramble, then Sunday evening we have
a big get together to compare notes, and say farewells.
If we Redcoats didn't share the room with the Laurel & Hardy fans - neither parties could afford it. So, I don't expect any Reds to watch the L&H Films, but they're there if you want them. Not forgetting of course, that some Reds are bringing kids - and grandkids who might well appreciate them. Mind you, the films are hilarious - to ALL ages.
