A KING IN SKEGNESS
When I devised this website, it was in the hope that people who wanted to reminisce about Butlins Skegness would write in with their stories. I could not have wished for a better first reply than the one I got from Andy King; who not only liked the site, but had a vast wealth of memorabilia he was willing to share with you, the Guests.
Andy was a Redcoat at Skegness for the seasons 1954, '55, and '56; and then, in what must be a unique move, returned for the '61, '62 and '63 seasons. Andy will be the first to admit that he was lucky enough to have hit Butlins during its heyday. Not only that, but he also worked alongside two Redcoats who went on to became TV stars; and a bar Entertainer who became world-famous. Just who they are will be revealed when you read on.

Obviously, Andy must have been a very popular lad to have been invited back so many times and, by all accounts, still is - judging from the amount of Reds who still keep in touch with him. Andy now lives in Lincoln from where, twice a year, he drives down the road to take his holidays at - you guessed it - Butlins Skegness. He has also attended the odd Butlin's Reunion or two, and is looking forward to the next one. If you want to drop Andy a line, you can contact him by clicking on the link below.
Meanwhile, enjoy these wonderful images and wallow in the nostalgia that they invoke.
