BUTLINS SKEGNESS 1980 BONNY BABY

BUTLINS SKEGNESS 1980 BONNY BABIES

Two typical line-ups for the "Bouncing Baby" Competition. Or, as we used to call it:
"The Baby who can eat most of the number card inside 15 minutes."

BUTLINS SKEGNESS 1980 FATHER & SON

The idea of the "Dad & Lad" competition was to find the son who looked most like his father,
which didn't give much of a chance to the sons of the men with beards and moustaches.

BUTLINS SKEGNESS 1980 DONKEY DERBY

Martin wisely jumps out of the way of a pack of stampeding
donkeys, after telling the jockeys to get their asses in gear.

Two donkeys, two jockeys, two owners, and three posers
[Redcoats L-R: Martin Kelleher, Gordon, Drew]

BUTLINS SKEGNESS 1980 LOVELY LEGS

BUTLINS SKEGNESS 1980

The Lovely Legs Competition - where extra points
were given to the ladies who showed you their navel.

Two of the winners weren't even showing their knees
- much less their legs.

[Redcoats L-R: Debbi, Martin, Les, Vonni]

MISS SHE competition - where the winner was the "best-dressed lady,"
(whereas most Redcoat males went for the best UN-dressed lady.)

[Redcoats L-R: Brian, Les, Martin, guest pro. footballer (name, please??]

BUTLINS SKEGNESS 1980 MOTHER & CHILD

The MOTHER and CHILD competition - where the winner was
the mother who could get her child to stand still for more than 30 seconds.

BUTLINS SKEGNESS 1980 HOLIDAY PRINCESS

The line-up of Winners in the HOLIDAY PRINCESS.
(Please note that the person in shorts is not one of the contestants.)

A more formal line-up of winners of the
HOLIDAY PRINCESS competition.

Our grateful thanks go to Martin Kelleher for the above photos and memories.
