Val and Sham - met at Butlins Barry in 1972,
AREN'T BALLROOMS GREAT |
In the evening, you can put some colourful lights on, and enjoy dancing. |
During the day the kids can sit on the floor, and watch a show ... |
... or do some Party Dances. |
And the adults can play silly games in the ballroom ... |
.... or practice how to do "The Twist." |
Don't these girls look lovely. |
But if you'd seen them 20 minutes earlier ....... |
A FAIRY STORY |
Every morning Adsham would wait by |
... and every afternoon Eval would wait by |
One noon they finally met up, fell in love, and tasted the forbidden fruit. |
Eventually the tree died - but their love went on ... |
... but not before bearing them the fruit of a beautiful daughter. |
(Sorry if this ruins the story, but that little girl is actually just a holidaymaker.) |
Don't ever stand by a swimming pool in your uniform ... |
... because, sooner or later ... |
... you can guarantee ... |
... you'll get thrown in. |
Our grateful thanks go to Sham & Val Chambers for all the above photos and memories.
